Deercreek Women’s Alliance (DWA) has been an active volunteer group in the Deercreek community since 1999. The DWA’s mission is threefold: 1. to promote awareness of the needs of local nonprofits, 2. to raise funds for and support them through a variety of activities and events, 3. to have a great time while doing this.
The DWA is hosting an event called Chat About Charities, on August 31st at 6.30pm in the clubhouse. Our goal that evening is for you to meet other members, make new friends, and learn more about the wonderful outcomes we have achieved for the thirteen charities we support. Refreshments will be available, and a good time will be had by all. Please mark your calendar and stand by for more details coming soon.
The purpose of this event is to inform those who are new to the Deercreek community, and those who may not be familiar with the DWA, about the nonprofits it supports, results accomplished, and ways to get involved:
The charities the DWA currently supports are:
City Rescue Mission Thrift Store
Families of Slain Children, Inc. (FOSCI)
Gabriel House of Care
Jacksonville Humane Society
Mandarin Food Bank
Mrs. Mary’s Boutique at Pace Center for Girls
The Bag Ladies of Lakewood Presbyterian Church
The Rita Foundation
